What's My Age Again?

many of you may recognize this photo from my birthday last year ;P

The other day, a friend of mine made a comment on my Facebook profile picture:

"You look 16 here! How old is this picture?"

To which i responded with "2 weeks old, hahaha!" Today I am 23 years and 8 months old but I still get mistaken for a 16 year old! Some people may get offended but to me, it's a compliment. If I continue looking 8 years younger than my real age, then I'm set for life! :P I still get ID'd at most places I go to, even movie theaters (which is kind of funny and annoying at the same time). The only time I don't get ID'd is if I wear high heels.

Do you get mistaken for being much younger than you really are?

people tend to think i'm younger and i attribute it to my being childish LOL! :) i think it's good for people to think we are younger than we really are. people spend tons of money just to look and retain their youth, right? ^^

That happens to me all the time! Bus conductors would even ask if I was still a student, volunteering the student discounted fare to me haha! :D

Appearances aside, you have the best part, you have a headstart, cuz you are among the very young at heart! =)

As a teen, people thought I was older. As I got older, people thought I was younger.

i don't know if it's the way i dress, but mostly i get carded at bars and that gets annoying. once in a while i'll get carded at a movie theatre lol. well you're definitely right though about looking young when you're older. :)

YEP. I think it’s good in general but bad when you want to do some kind of teaching job. =( ppl think you’re “ less qualified” because you look young.. sux right?!

=) but I guess overall, still a good thing ~

Awesome photo! Though I must admit sometimes it's hard to forget my age! But! When I went to Florida this year a security lady asked if I was 15 LOL I also find it a huge compliment =P Just imagine it when we hit the "big" 30! kekekekekekeke

Omg this is going to sound super creepy by I was also thinking of going to the rim for tea sometime next week! I hope it's as good as you expect it to be!!!! (or else the whole tea attached with my name on it might not be such a positive thing LOL) but I feel honored that you think of me and afternoon tea together LOL is it weird to think this? I hope not! I've yet to try it but will hope to soon! It's paper writing season followed by finals for us students *sigh* but I try to do my papers early and I pace my study so I can still have fun in between! I don't understand how people can study one or two weeks straight! I rather start studying a month ahead, slowly with time to spare (and to have fun LOL)

P.s will there be any chance of the neeenja shirt offered in other colours? =P!

I get the opposite all the time :( When I was 17, in Singapore I'd always get mistakened for 25+!!! How sad hahaha. BUT, I never got ID'd whenever I hit up the bars/clubs/pubs with my cousins when I'm back home. Yup I was a rebel hahaha jk. Has its pros + cons I guess :P

Hi Kym!!!

i get that too... i guess us asians just have the gift of youth. like my lolo who's 70 years old... people mistaken him for being 40 cus he still rocking his black hair! LOL. woot woot! i hope i got those genes!

ohhh ohhh! and my bff is 21 and everyone in her school thinks that she's in 8th grade. hahaha! and when she met my aunt, my aunt was like... you brought an 8th grade to give you a ride home!? uhhhh... no she's 21. hahahahaha!!

ohhh and to answer your question... something happened to me last month that just got me so down lately. i haven't been able to focus on being productive since T__T i hope to get over it real soon though -____-

Haha I get that too! It's definitely a good thing. Treasure it b/c now that I'm older I worry about all those years suddenly catching up on me :P

That happens to me all the time :) I think it's because Asians do look younger than our actual age :D I always get asked, 'So which school do you go to?' What school? I graduated 5 years ago!! Haha.

MissA* said...

^ I wanted to say more than 5 years ago... You see what age do to you? I lost count with my age :P

lololololol! I KNOW right!! XD feel ya my dear, lol... even here in Indonesia with fellow asians, they all think I am 5 years younger than my real age, you know it's always awkward when people ask me if I am a highschool student when I am actually have graduated college xD lol.

and yeah, they guess right when I wear high heels, lolololol ;p

In the clinic, when a patient walks in, I usually get asked: "Are you the dentist?" and when I answer, they reply: "Oh, you're so young" As if implying (Oh no, she might not know what she's doing!) It sucks when that happens, so even when I was just an associate, we were encouraged to dress "properly" and to wear make-up and jewelry!
