Awkward Wedding Moments

As you know, weddings have been on my mind for the last few months! Lately, my fiance and I have been trying to prioritize things since everything has a dollar amount attached to it and things add up quickly! We agreed that one of the things we remember the most when we go to weddings is...

THE FOOD!

I'm sure you're not surprised :P Another thing I always remember from weddings would be the AWKWARD MOMENTS. My #1 favourite awkward moment is the part where the groom goes under the brides dress to retrieve the garter - just take a glance to grandma/grandpa/mom/dads table - awwwkkkward. Maybe this is only in Asian weddings since Asian parents are a little more traditional/conservative!?

Alcohol + crazy uncles also make for great awkward moments. I remember a wedding I went to back in California where the bride was several months pregnant. While someone was giving their speech, the drunken uncle yelled out something about her getting knocked up. *crickets* *tumbleweeds* haha!

What do you remember the most from weddings?

Creepy or Socially Awkward?

You know how you meet some nice people but you can't help but shy away from them because they give off a creepy vibe? For some reason, i seem to attract all sorts of those kinds of people!

For example... almost everyday, I come across this man in the lunch room who is an Asian man in his late 40's. Whenever we eat lunch, I feel like I have committed a serious crime as I am being investigated with "20 questions" - what do your parents do? what do you do on the weekend? where do you live? where is your church? do you attend bible studies? you've lost weight, what are you eating or not eating?

O.o

But that's not the worst of it. In between the 20 questions, he pauses for a few seconds, stares at me, all while rubbing his hands together... and it makes me cringe not only because he is staring at me and rubbing his hands together but his hands are super dry so you can hear the dry skin sound (does that bother anyone else?)

Anyway, today was the awkward-est of them all. I was reading the newspaper and he comes up behind me and leans over my shoulder.

"Sexy outfits not out of the ordinary for service industries..." reads the headline in big bold letters.

"Oh.... sexy outfits?" he continues to skim through the article and then asks me the big question:

 "WHAT IS CLEAVAGE?"

Uhm, seriously? Thankfully, there was another less-creepy-and-awkward male person in the room so I bounced the question over to him. haha!

I feel bad for the guy... he seems like a nice guy... he has a family and all...but maybe he was just never taught that questions like that are inappropriate... and staring at someone while rubbing your hands together gives an unwanted message.

Do you have any creeper/socially awkward stories?
I now leave you with a picture from Urban Glamour Market last night... the first picture was of me trying to not be in the picture but just have the speech bubble and pillow monster in there. But alas, I failed. It turned into a creepy picture instead with only my eyes showing. haha!

like my giant speech bubble? :P

Awkward Family Photos - Miley Cyrus Edition.

The post I planned for today was inspired from a magazine I read on the weekend. It was about how Miley Cyrus has turned from innocent to scandalous - just like her predecessors, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, etc. etc. I was going to talk about how nowadays, everyone is going the scandalous route in order to get some attention... whatever happened to being famous simply because you are talented?

To pair my post with photos, i typed in "Scandalous Miley Cyrus" on Google and the direction of my post suddenly changed.

What the heck is this!!!

This definitely reminded me of my post from a few days ago about Awkward Family Photos. If i didn't know who Miley Cyrus was, I would have assumed the "macho man" she is resting on was her boyfriend!!! *puke*

Awkward Family Photos

At the beginning of this week, I decided to kill time at the bookstore during my coffee break. I ended up having a great laugh when I came across the Awkward Family Photos book.

It kinda reminded me of my awkward younger years. At the age of 6, I had to start wearing glasses (probably because I read in the dark, and played tamagotchi on the train constantly) and at that time, what was "in style" were the big huge circular eyeglasses. Not gonna lie, i was even a bit of a tomboy.

Check it out, i've even got the boy swag going on, sporting my big circle glasses WITH stings attached might i add! Those were to make sure I didn't drop them on ground if they accidentally came off. Check out the other girls in the background - cute, girly, mary jane shoes.. but me? You can't see it but I'm wearing boy black shoes.

Now it's your turn! Let's see a picture of you from your awkward years!

Don't forget - My "Live, Love, Laugh, EAT!" hoodies are 35% OFF until Tuesday, June 22! Come get yours here!
