Philippines Pt.4 : Interesting Finds (Forgery Services, Anyone?)

Yes, 3 weeks later, I am still posting about the Philippines - there is just that much to cover! :P Here are some interesting finds from the Philippines... it may be normal to some, but having spent most of my years in Canada, it was definitely interesting to me!

Walls and walls and walls of good quality fakes
Seriously the best theater experience ever! For only $8 CAD, you get reclining la-z-boy chairs, assigned seating, and a server taking your order for unlimited drinks and popcorn. Awesome.

I was minding my own business, looking through racks of clothing, when suddenly all employees in the store break out into a dance routine!

I see this a lot in Asia... not so much in North America.
The pic isn't that clear but can you see what is in those cages? PUPPIES! being sold on the street.
These people are selling forgery services for everything from land titles, marriage certificates, birth certificates, passports, diplomas, etc. Right on the street...

Normally, we would see people running for office promising things like lower taxes, better education, but this particular councilor is promising "operation tule" ... in english, operation circumcision!

Malls in the Philippines have people at the entrance checking your bags before you enter. This particular mall had a Michael Jackson theme... just to make the experience a little more interesting.

Last but not least - check out this giant toblerone! My new uncle collects unique items from all around the world - this one was my favorite. ^____^

Movie theaters are so much better elsewhere! That theater looks amazing and comfortable. They have really cool ones in Korea too. Not packed like sardines like in the U.S. lol

Ah those puppies. Those who sell on the streets sell them for a cheaper price than the more legit kennels/sellers that have proper papers for the dogs.

OMG that giant Toblerone is amazing! Kinda sad about the puppies though.

Not gonna lie, everything in this post was either interesting, hilarious, or cool. Definitely wanna visit the Philippines someday (and chill in that theater).

Hahahaa, what song did the employees dance to!? Everything does look interesting. Why am I not rich enough even to fly to Manila, again?

LMAO at the operation circumcision! Er, okay. :P And I could totally get used to those theaters!

(Great theory. I could totally see that happening. :\ )

I enjoyed your writings of exploring the Philippines. I wish to explore some SEA countries too. I think they've this laidback and old-school vibe in them. Every street, every corner must have been very exciting.

LoL at all the fakes. It's very interesting to know what could be faked. I bet it was quite an adventure checking out the place. My heart goes out to the puppies though. I wonder how much they cost.

You're not behind time in your posts. I am... Haha... you see that maldives there? That was 6 months back. =( I just can't find the time to blog so much especially when there are more important stuff going on.

RYC:
Haha... really? Before Maldives, my last trip was in December 2009 to NYC. I guess I’m really late in my updating and am really quite the ill-travelled soul. I love buffets too but we recently stopped checking out buffet places. Not too sure why, it just happens. I hope you're enjoying marital bliss so far!

Haha! You must really miss Philippines right now! :-) It's amazing how the normal things to us seem so interesting to other people! And good quality fakes, there are just so much of those here :)))

:)) okay, gotta say I saw them lots here so nothing is too weird for me (but I've never seen dogs being sold like that here..), the fakes, the theatre, oh... never seen dance routine either but there's always surprises everywhere :)) and tops+leggings, only when the top is long enough ;D all in all, i think it's quite similar to Indonesia hahaha..

BUT

I've never seen THAT giant toblerone before!!! :D the biggest choc I've ever had was a kilo, and I spent months to finish it :|
