You Get What You Pay For...

To date, I am subscribed to about 20 group buying websites (Groupon, LivingSocial, etc) . If you aren't familiar with group buying websites - they are websites that give you heavily discounted deals if a certain number of people buy the deal. Last January, my girlfriends and I bought a spa voucher for a hot stone massage + sauna package that is worth $160 but was selling for $29. We snatched it up right away and used the voucher yesterday.

We were supposed to get a total of 1 hour and a half of spa time including a hot stone massage and sauna but what did we get?

A total of one hr of spa time and someone rubbing (not massaging) our body with hot stones.

I've never had a hot stone massage before and i'm no expert on massaging but I truly feel like I could have asked a child to put massaging oil and rub hot stones on my back and I would have gotten the same thing. -_-

I guess you get what you pay pay for...

The only good thing about the place was that they have a Party Room. A huge room with a projector screen where you can watch movies, stations for manicures and pedicures so that was pretty cool.

What was your worse spa/massage experience?

P.S - Before you go, please check out Behind the Scenes photos from my Herro Hachi photo shoot yesterday (click here)! New releases will be up on Monday, March 28. :)

Aw that's too bad that your experience wasn't that great. I just did a groupon at Skoah and it was awesome! If it's any consolation, at least you didn't pay for this ho-hum experience at full price :p

But let me say that people get MORE than they pay for when they do business with Herro Hachi.

One birthday I received a voucher for a neck/shoulder massage. First, they kept trying to get me to take off my pants--for a neck massage??? I didn't. Then the "massage" turned out to be less intense than having someone rub suntan lotion on me. The woman had the weakest hands!!! Very disappointing. The following year I received the gift of 30 minutes with a psychic, she was a phony, but it was better than the massage.

Aww didn't you complain? Even though it was bought on sale, they should treat each and every customers fairly! Their reputation is at stake! And usually, when a service was done right, they can get customer's loyalty!!! Too bad, they're like most stores, which really is just after people's money! Tsskkk... sorry to hear about your bad experience :(

What a horrible experience! I've heard horror stories similar to these when people mention that they have the "coupons etc", seriously I Thought they were going for repeat customers, not just a one time thing!

Personally, I haven't have any really bad experiences but I did run into a few corners when trying to communicate with some non-english speaking nail technicians. Hope you're next one is better!

Oh I checked out the behind the scenes shot and it look liked you guys had a ton of fun! I loved seeing the familiar settings Go aberdeen! oh and Herro Hachi of course!

That sounds like a horrible experience. I usually go for Thai massage once a month. I ran into a bad masseuse last month. I thought she was going to break my bones into pieces!!

Unluckily yes, you get what you pay for... sometimes you pay too much and get less... sometimes you pay less and get... this! :-) keep smiling sweety and send negativity to hell!!

some places, they're very bad with massaging regardless coupon or not! i always asked for deep tissue massage wherever i go for massage. and you'll learn which spa has better service.

i bought a coupon from citydeal too for car service. i was supposed to get free tool kit or something but i didnt get any. disappointed.

Ahh that sucks ... I find that any deal thing you buy, the company gets mad because they don't really get that much profit so the experience leaves something to be desired. And ... I've -never- been to a spa or gotten a massage :( one of these days I will, but for now I'm the gal that every person goes to if they need a massage haha. Hope you had a great weekend, lady! Can't wait for the new releases :D

patikym patikym bake me a cake! That's what I'm reminded of when I hear your name :)

Too bad the massage sucked. At least they didn't throw the stones at you.

oh no! What a let down =( The worst massage I've ever experienced was when the massage therapist picked up her cell phone not once, not twice, but THREE times during my massage and proceeded to have a full on conversation. and she never ever said sorry. who does that? lol. at least i have a funny story to tell hehe.

at first i thought these websites gives you coupons for free -_- haha

i never really liked massages from strangers, i feel awkward & weird & even more tense than relaxed!

We have these kind cheap deal offer locally too. So far I have not bought any yet because I fear they'll short changed us since it's like more than 50% discount sometimes. It's not unfounded, it has happened before.

Worst massage experience? A Thai traditional massage ... it's like they intend to break every bone in your body ... hehehe!
