Boring Wedding Stuff

I've been mentioning my upcoming wedding for a while now but i've never actually shared many details at all. You're probably wondering "is she really engaged?" yes... yes, i am. :P I didn't share any details because I didn't have many details to share, haha! (procrastination at it's finest)

We wanted a really non-traditional wedding that is unique and represents who we are. We went with a japanese inspired wedding with theme colors of grayaqua (as you can see from the invitations i designed, pictured below). There are lots of exciting details incorporated in the wedding but i will keep that a surprise until after the wedding. :D

Do you have any ideas for japanese touches we can add to our wedding?

yay first!!! Wow everything looks so exciting for you wedding and Im definitely loving the spin on the guest books, some practical advice please LOL the japanese theme with your chosen colour scheme is definitely unique! (yes I was in a crazy wedding faze for a while which really scared my bf LOL) Are you planning to throw your bouquet? Guest favors? To be honest, I love edible guest favors because...well...everyone likes to eat right? Because, who really wears a key chain with someones face tattooed on it, maybe your close family will but I think the majority of ppl will prefer chocolates LOL I also find that seeds are very popular now too =S

As for suggestions I was thinking maybe you could incorporate paper cranes, cherry blossoms, (sake?LOL) or some sort of japanese food (matcha etc.)? Im sure ochi will have some great suggestions =P Wow only 74 days left!

I like to pretend I'm a jack of all trades, but the Japanese twist is outside my realm of experience. So I got nothing!

But there's nothing boring about "wedding suff". =)

Paper Lanterns in your decor? Spring time there's always round paper lanterns that come out. Cherry blossoms are Japanesy

I'm also biased on the origami. Origami cranes! :) haha. Or maybe origami bouquet. But that's me, not you. I love your theme and love that you are designing your own invites

Wow your wedding ideas are so cool! Love your wedding invites! And comfy shoes for the reception are definitely great. My friend gave out flip flops to the gals during her wedding reception. :P

Hmm can't seem to think of other Japanese touches.. um, origami stuff. :P

Second the first comment about paper cranes! And you must have a playlist of Japanese artists, which I can supply haha. That sneak peek of the wedding dress made me all giddy - it's really coming soon! And since you're "procrastinating", I will gladly spend one of my days in Vancouver with you and helping you with last-minute details :D

WHOA you're getting married. This shows how long i've not been active in the blogging world, and coming over to visit your blog. Congratulations my dear :D

I love your theme :) so unconventional and exciting. Can't wait for you to reveal it all after the wedding. Have a blessed married life with your partner. I wish you the best!

What about incorporating bamboo-inspired decorations for the table setting or exterior of the wedding reception??

You know, you don't need to do anything special regarding hair and makeup either. But I understand you want everything a certain way for the big day. You're going to outshine MH even more than usual. =)

(Now watch, someone else w/the initials MH will read this, think I mean her, and be offended!)

Geisha make up for your bridesmaids lol.

Urm, totally agree with jap-based songs: anime, games, jdorama - ever watch beautiful life? Youtube instrumental konya tsuki no mieru oka ni.

Or instrumental first love utada hikaru is amazing too :)

Sushi for food? Sake for drink?

:) exciting theme....

i wish you best wishes in advance kym.

when i think of japanese themes, i am thinking of bonsai, cherry blossoms, japanese sliding doors, sake, samurai, ninja, and of course kimmidolls and hello kitty :)
