Day Something - Somewhere You Have Lived...

I totally defeated the purpose of following a 30 Day Blog Challenge... so i've decided to just freestyle it and write about the topics listed when I have time. :P

these pictures are not my own - just found 'em through google image search. :)

I spent 10 years of my life in Hong Kong and attended kindergarten up to grade 6 there. Surprisingly, I cannot speak cantonese - except for simple phrases like "how are you?" "how much is that?" "i'm bored." haha! It was definitely culture shock for me when my family moved from Hong Kong to Canada. When we got here, it was like "what do you mean the mall closes at 6PM? what is this!!!" hahaha!
Which countries have you lived in?

Really?! What time do shops close in Hong Kong?

Do your parents speak cantonese???

I used to live in Jordan for 5 years, then CT(USA) and NY for 6 years. Rest I lived in Japan but not the same place... So I don't have hometown, actually...

"what do you mean the mall closes at 6PM? what is this!!!" - that made me laugh XD. In America too, even Asian stores close around 6, so I always thought they closed early in Asian, but I learned apparently not XD. I've never left the U.S., but living in another country i on the to do list.

If staying few months in one country means living, then I lived in Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. I did spend around a year in Asia in the last few years, so it did shape me in a sense, I got a global perspective on things. And I'm gonna live in Taiwan next year, yay :)

Hong Kong is just a city of it own hey? Granted, I've never visiting NY or Tokyo but I love how HK is so alive, even at midnight (or, especially at midnight??) I was there for vacation earlier this year and went into reverse culture shock when I came back to Canada. What do you mean I can't leave the house past 9pm?? Haha
