Oh, Miss Philippines...

QUESTION: What is one big mistake that you've made in your life and what did you do to make it right?

ANSWER: Thank you so much, Sir for that wonderful question. You know what, Sir in my 22 years of existence I can say that there is nothing major major, I mean, problem that I have done in my life. Because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I am here, thank you thank you so much.

... I probably could've heard a pin drop in my living room after she answered the question. Everyones jaw just dropped and there was silence. HAHAHA! Oh, Miss Philippines! I was totally rooting for you! Now, don't get me wrong, I am from the Philippines myself and I am definitely not hating on my own kind but that answer was disappointing.

I think maybe what she was trying to say is that she has no regrets in her life because of the continuous love and support from her family. ?!?

What do you think and how would you answer that question?

I didn't watch the show. Is she fluent in English? That, along with nerves can make it very hard to get out a good answer.

My snap answer is I wish I had worked harder in high school. I didn;t fully appreciate the opportunity that represented. But after having a few interesting life experiences, I realized my error and made up for it by working as hard as I could in college...and helping the poor, working with children, rescuing abused animals, volunteering at senior centers, visiting shut-ins, picking up trash along rivers and hiking trails, and always doing my best to mentor the young so they won't have to learn the hard way like I did. =)

I would have said something about not making more friends during high school, and I'd maad up for it by being more social now. Or whatever. I can't believe she answered so lamely! Must be the nerves.

so far i've never heard of a "smart" answers from any of the misses.

it's about time they send someone totally smart for this kind of things.

or at least train them into giving smart answers ahahah

I was confused by her answer too! I was like, did she answer the question? LOL!

I was too, in shock when i heard her answer.

I was like, wth. Are you serious? ? I think she shouldve said she have made some mistakes. (everyone is not perfect) and that she was able to move on and learn from them. (with family and friends to help support her ) But again, she was put on the spot to answer the question right then. poor miss philipines, i was rooting for her too. But it's okay, Miss mexico truly deserve the crown and title.

I was watching this last night and I had hope for her since she looked very intelligent but her answer wasnt good. I knew right then and there that she had lost it..she didnt even asnwer the question. But she had the hardest question, I thought it was too personal. I agree with "MK's comment" However, Im still proud that she made top 5. :)

Mmmm... I don't know... probably coming back to Italy from the UK and I haven't done anything to make it right yet... apart from the fact that my parents need me here and I somehow need them to be within reach! I'm attached to my family...
The second? Leaving my boyfriend back then maybe... and like the other one: I haven't done anything to make it right either.
I guess it's because I think that mistakes are not mistakes. They're simply decision (which can be wrong or right depending on how you feel and this can change during the years), but they're part of you. Part of what you are so... I guess we need and can't avoid making mistakes! Wonderful post! All Misses answer that way... it's sad but it's what they tell them to say! :-/

I still think she should have come up with something lol
I would have said a situation and answered with love and support from my family... I overcame... etc etc. Not what she said LOL!!

Ahhh so this was the question posed to her. I didn't catch the telecast and some of my friends were talking about how horrible her answer was. I feel bad for her.

She should have simply say she has no regrets and there is nothing that she would change. Everyone has to look forward and think positive.

Being from Manila myself you can just imagine how drastic the rollercoaster of emotions in my Facebook wall was: from Mendoza's hostage taking to Venus Raj's being in the Top 5 to her answer. I swear I will puke in my mouth if I ever hear or read "Major major" again. I felt bad because that was such a missed opportunity, but still glad she got in the Top 5. Anyway she was 5th in the ranking of the scores even before the Q&A.

I would've answered "I shouldn't have let emotion control me over reason. I shouldn't have fallen in love with Dane." Hee but I don't think that answer will be passable unless I tell the whole story to the judges and that will take at least 45 minutes XD

Her anwer was really disappointing !!

My answer would be: Well i had many mistakes in my life, some really bad others acceptable. But with them i learned and i grew up a lot.

omigosh me too kym, i was really thinking that she could have won the title! but after her answer my hopes just crashed and i just accepted defeat. hehe. i just wish she answered that question with the difficulty she had to go through just to get to vegas. (long story short, she almost got disqualified because she didnt have a philippine passport)

but she def. made us proud just by making it to the top 5! that is an accomplishment! she really looked unique out of all the contestants in the top 5! imo. her tan complexion is stunning :)

Hi Kym,

Was she disturbed?! The way she answered shows no one is perfect! Ha-ha!

I didn't know you were from Philippines!!!

I think all the Miss-whatever's answers are dumb. None of them are very intelligent, no offense! What did she end up placing anyways? I was pretty sad I missed it :(
PS- what do you speak at home? English? Filipino?

I saw that actually stayed up just to see how far Miss Philippines would go. I'm actually impressed that we got that far. Honestly, I had the same reaction as everyone else my jaw just dropped and accepted that she would most likely end up last.
