My Knees!!!

Last Saturday, I decided to try climbing the Grouse Grind again for the first time after 10 years. It's only 1.8 miles in length but the elevation....oh, the elevation. -.- I approached it with the same mentality that I have when running - keep a steady pace but again... the freakin' elevation! haha! I probably won't be doing it again anytime soon as my knees were so weak at the end of it all... both bf and I have bad knees so we struggled a bit because of the steepness but we struggled together. Awwwww... haha!

Well, its August! Check out who Herro Hachi's featured customer of the month is here

Did anything make you weak in the knees this weekend?! :D

Oh don't tell me about knees... I went hiking last weekend: 6 hrs, 14 km and 1000 metres of height difference... Then on Wednesday my car broke down and I had the good idea to jump off the tow truck... My boss had to bring me to the hospital on Thursday and now... I am at home with a very sore knee....

One of my friends was in Whistler last week... downhill race or something like that... I thought of my cousin and you when he told me!

Wow, Kym, I admire you. You're so active and sporty, I wish I was half of you :) Would love to share that reward with you, hehe. Cheers.

Bad knees? Sports injury? Last summer (fall?) I found a new area rug on my bedroom floor one evening when I got home from work. It slipped when I stepped on it for the first time (no pad underneath) and I twisted my left knee. Going up and down steps was painful for a while. It was fine for a few months, but then I twisted it again playing with our dog.

I did go weak in the knees once this weekend, but I wasn't tired.

You are such a super trooper! And I have pretty bad knees too so I worry about trying to conquer this ... but if you can do it, so can I! Definitely proud of you and woot for free gifts, yummy food, and scarves! I'll get on the changes/updates for the site pronto :)

I haven't done the Grind this year but super excited. I'm usually good with going up but I HATE coming down because the impact really kills your knees 200X worse than going up. Thankfully, Grouse has a lift though!

I usually wear a knee brace when going downhill on other hikes and I take calcium supplements too.
