Snuggilicious Weekend

Long weekends are never long enough. My highlights:

(1) & (2) - Spent time with my best girls watching cheesy Filipino movies, eating, talking, speeding up our friends love life by signing her up on E-Harmony (let's see if it works!!!), eating, eating, and more eating. Like my sexy snuggie pic? ;P I used to laugh at their info-mercials (actually i still do), but it's surprisingly pretty comfortable.

(3) - Bought lots of pretty paper to start making Christmas cards for friends and family! You may just be getting one in your mailbox soon! :D

(4) - My parents and my fiancees parents met last night to discuss wedding stuff. It's slowly sinking in... i'm getting married in 7 months!!!

... and of course, i wouldn't be a true Filipino if i didn't make mention of the awesome victory by our "national hero" MANNY PACQUIAO!!! I am so glad Margarito got beat up the way he did, especially after my brother showed me a YouTube video of him making fun of Freddie Roach (Pacquiao's coach) because he has Parkinson's Disease (watch video here). This is what you get for being a heartless man and for messing with Team Pacman!

Machete

For my brothers birthday, he requested that we all watch Machete on Friday night. WOW....and not in a good way. I didn't know what it was about before watching it which increased the shock factor for me. You think you're watching an action film, then it turns gory, then you think... "what the heck? am i watching a porno?" then you think "okay maybe its a romantic action comedy film" then BAM! "Machete" stabs someone, takes their intestine by the hand and runs away while pulling the intestine to its full length. Yeah.

Btw - it's not fair that the girls get a 66 year old man as eye candy while the boys get Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez (well, Lindsay Lohan was there too but ... y'know) haha!

No wonder I got ID'd twice before watching the movie! I was shocked because this has never happened to me before at the theaters. At the ticket counter:

Ticket Girl: Can I see some ID please?
Me: Uhmmm, what do you need my ID for?
Ticket Girl: This is an 18A movie, we need to ID anyone who looks under 18.

O.o

...lining up with my ticket to enter the movie.

Ticket Tearer Boy: Are you here with someone over the age of 18?
Me: *are you serious!?* ---> points to the rest of my group who got through just fine... "i'm with them, and for the record i'm 23"

HAHAHA! Wow... not to mention when we went to the pub later on, i got ID'd again. Maybe it's cus I got bangs.. it makes me look younger?

What'd you do this weekend?

My Knees!!!

Last Saturday, I decided to try climbing the Grouse Grind again for the first time after 10 years. It's only 1.8 miles in length but the elevation....oh, the elevation. -.- I approached it with the same mentality that I have when running - keep a steady pace but again... the freakin' elevation! haha! I probably won't be doing it again anytime soon as my knees were so weak at the end of it all... both bf and I have bad knees so we struggled a bit because of the steepness but we struggled together. Awwwww... haha!

Well, its August! Check out who Herro Hachi's featured customer of the month is here

Did anything make you weak in the knees this weekend?! :D

Delicious Movie Weekend

Besides having delicious food this weekend (as you can see in the pictures above), I also saw two movies: A-TEAM & KARATE KID

A-TEAM: I absolutely LOVED it and want to see it again! It reminded me a lot of movies like Ocean's 11 - comedic, action, problem solving, even a bit of a love story. I thought they chose appropriate guys to play each main role but then again, i've never seen the original A-Team so i have nothing to compare it to. A++

KARATE KID: Loved this movie also - lots of action, character development, a bit of comedy. Jaden did a great job in this movie, it made me want to learn kung fu after watching it! haha!

How was your weekend?
