Por que, why?

Why am I in this business? I'm tired, i want to sleep or just watch my favorite tv shows and/or play Bejeweled.

Why doesn't my boyfriend send me flowers everyday, serenade me outside my window with the most perfect voice, and appear at the doorway just at the right time with a box of diamonds then sweep me away on a horse waiting outside? The movies say this is what men do.

Why do people make stupid decisions on the road? Something as simple as signaling to change lanes could save your life.

Why do dogs get to sleep and play all day and I don't?

Why can't i go on vacation? I need one...

Why can't i just eat everything I want without a worry about gaining a pound here and there? The media says stick skinny is beautiful.

Why is time going by so fast? I havn't achieved all my 2010 goals yet and it's more than half over.

Why can't I take naps in the middle of the day, everyday? Kids can do it.

Why, why, why?

What are the "WHY'S" in your life right now?

I Couldn't Resist!

I'm sorry. I'm still amused by Venus Raj's answer at last Monday's Miss Universe Q&A (refer to my previous post if you're not sure what i'm talking about).

Just thought i would throw a little humor out there since there is a lot of negative air around the Philippines right now :(

Oh, Miss Philippines...

QUESTION: What is one big mistake that you've made in your life and what did you do to make it right?

ANSWER: Thank you so much, Sir for that wonderful question. You know what, Sir in my 22 years of existence I can say that there is nothing major major, I mean, problem that I have done in my life. Because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I am here, thank you thank you so much.

... I probably could've heard a pin drop in my living room after she answered the question. Everyones jaw just dropped and there was silence. HAHAHA! Oh, Miss Philippines! I was totally rooting for you! Now, don't get me wrong, I am from the Philippines myself and I am definitely not hating on my own kind but that answer was disappointing.

I think maybe what she was trying to say is that she has no regrets in her life because of the continuous love and support from her family. ?!?

What do you think and how would you answer that question?

Look ma! Front page!

To new readers of my blog, Herro Hachi is a clothing line I started about a year ago. :)
http://www.herrohachi.com

Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of meeting fellow blogger, Rebekah at the Urban Glamour Market I was vending at. She works for the Richmond Review (our local newspaper) and wanted to come and observe me in action and interview me as well. She told me a while before that she wanted to do a story on young entrepreneurs in our city so I was excited at the idea of having a small little section in the newspaper but to my surprise... I WAS ON THE FRONT PAGE! WHAT??? Also in the article are fellow bloggers and friends - Bunnie and Lemon Pie! Thank you so much for this opportunity, Rebekah!

Read the online version of the article here: "Young entrepreneurs open up shop online to do business..."

Here are some fun photos of us from that evening!

Photobooth: Le Studio Vancouver (I teamed up with them by supplying them with some of my speech bubbles to use as props!)

Bunnie & I :)

Rebekah & I... love that awkward turtle hand ;P

I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me from the beginning, from the middle, or from just recently. It means the world to me... you have no idea! :)

That was the most exciting part of my weekend... what was yours?

Habby Every Day!

definitely not going to miss the state of our guest rooms! This picture is actually when it was "neat" - it was worse a few days before i took this photo!

Our second batch of exchange students are leaving. It's a bit of a bitter sweet feeling. I'm definitely not going to miss their loud chatter, jumping, running, sometimes screaming and just being 11-13 yr olds. At the same time, i'm going to miss the way they all come out to greet me when i come home from work with a loud and cheerful "KEEEEEEEEEEMMMMM!!!" (Kym) and also their sweet and playful selves. I smiled when I read their farewell letters to our families. They had sweet, sincere words but best of all... it was all in Engrish! hehehe!

"Herro? Habby Every Day!"

They're going to be bringing many Herro Hachi t-shirts back to Shanghai... I wonder if anyone will clue them in on what "Herro?" is referring to? haha!

They like play with me b/c i am beautiful girl! hahaha! ;P

Part 2 of Nikolett & Kym (aka Boots & Cats)

Please don't de-friend us, we're normal people...we promise. hahaha!

Just as Nikolett and I were getting to know each other, she has to go back to Ontario! It's cliche, but when we hang out, it's as if we've been hanging out for years. She gets me. She gets that I have to go to the washroom every 15 minutes b/c she does too. She gets that scars make you unique b/c she has the same scars that I have. She gets that it's okay to sing in a man voice every once in a while... especially to Cher's "BerieveBelieve". I'm going to miss you! But we'll surely see each other again...either in Vancouver or Hamil-ronto. :)

Before heading here I said "I hope you're not creeped out, but i'm bringing you to an abandoned parking lot" hahaha! There was a purpose for this - we had dinner at Bakudanyaki which is served out of a trailer in a parking lot.

one of many of our jump shots - check out my hair!

we're hot stuff.

both reppin' Herro Hachi ;)

Beautiful sunset to end our evening...

Till next time!
have a great weekend :)

I'm like a bird...

...i wanna fly away (nelly furtado)

I love the feeling of "flying"... maybe that's why subconsciously, one of my first usernames back back backkk in the day was fLyGrL001 (yes, complete with upper case/lower case letters, haha). Oddly enough though, i'm actually scared of heights but i love the thrill!

i love taking jumping photos...
what pattern do you see in the way you pose for photos?

My First Blogger Meet-up/Hang out! Eeeek!

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of finally meeting Nikolett from Better Than Coffee...also the talented genius web designer behind my official website: www.herrohachi.com! She's visiting from Hamilton, ON (the opposite side of Canada) to visit her sister Fab Brunette here in Vancouver. :)

I was a bit nervous at first as if I was about to go on a blind date with someone. What if she doesn't like me? What if we don't hit it off? What if I have food stuck in my teeth and she's too shy to tell me? haha! It didn't help that I was late too... due to unforeseen circumstances. Sorry Nikolett! =/

Anyway, on to our adventures....first, I took her to Japadog for some heart-cloggingly good hotdogs!

We exchanged gifts as well - I got her my Live, Love, Laugh, EAT! Tank Top and an "I <3 Coffee" pouch from local friends, Kukubee! IT'S HER BIRTHDAY AT THE END OF THIS MONTH! :D She got me a beautiful purple hand knit scarf! Can't wait till it gets warm enough for me to wear it, thanks Nikolett!

Yes, yes... I realize it looks like it says "Live, Love, Laugh, FAT" hahaha! ;P

It's a pretty known fact that Nikolett loves Coffee... obvs since it's in her blog name... but did you know she's also as crazy about Nutella as I am? It only made sense that I bring her to a popular little spot downtown called Cafe Crepe....and it only made double sense that we both ordered a Strawberry and Nutella Crepe with a hint of cognac. ;D YUM!

Short lil' me with Nikolett in front of the Vancouver Public Library :D

Before parting ways, we wanted to do a short lil shout out video for our mutual bloggy friends! If we missed anyone, sorry! We kinda did it on a whim and there'll probably be a PART 2 coming soon! :D We found a little spot at a coffee shop but there were many people passing by which is why i was giggling so much. haha! Enjoy!

There is a "normal" shoutout, a robotic shoutout, and a freestyle shoutout. Haha!

WISH YOU WERE ALL THERE!

You're Goin' Places, Baby!

Last week, Nikolett passed on the "You're Goin' Places, Baby" award/tag to me... all you have to do is describe where you think you'll be in 10 years.

FAMILY - In 10 years, I see myself with a family of my own... hopefully with a little boy and girl living in a nice little home somewhere close enough to the city but far enough to feel peace & quiet. I hope to be a loving wife to my husband and a patient, caring, loving mother to my kid(s). Perhaps have a chubby cat or dog too... i don't know why but i've always wanted a chubby pet. hehe.

HERRO HACHI - In 10 years, I see myself working on Herro Hachi full time with a store front and international recognition. I hope to clothe many but most of all inspire many. One of my fave quote:

"The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it" - Michelangelo

Dream big... dream big. :)

TRAVELS - In 10 years, I want to have toured Europe and Asia and many other places around the world. From as close as Lake Tahoe to as far as Bora Bora

SEEING YOU - In 10 years, I hope to have met many of you wonderful bloggers in person! I'm excited to meet Nikolett this Friday! Eeeeek! You can bet there'll be lotsa pictures to share next week :D

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

My Knees!!!

Last Saturday, I decided to try climbing the Grouse Grind again for the first time after 10 years. It's only 1.8 miles in length but the elevation....oh, the elevation. -.- I approached it with the same mentality that I have when running - keep a steady pace but again... the freakin' elevation! haha! I probably won't be doing it again anytime soon as my knees were so weak at the end of it all... both bf and I have bad knees so we struggled a bit because of the steepness but we struggled together. Awwwww... haha!

Well, its August! Check out who Herro Hachi's featured customer of the month is here

Did anything make you weak in the knees this weekend?! :D
